1.During honing, the workpiece is installed on the honing machine table or in the fixture, and the honing head with a number of whetstone bars is inserted into the machined hole, which is driven by the machine tool spindle to rotate and reciprocate axially. When the whetstone bar contacts the hole wall with a certain pressure, a very thin layer of metal can be cut off. The honing head and the main shaft generally form a floating connection.
2.There are several types of honing heads: mechanical pressure type, pneumatic or hydraulic automatic pressure regulation type. The honing head shown in the figure is of the mechanical pressure type, and the hydraulic pressure regulation type is often used in actual production.
